Glossybox | May 2019

Another month means it’s time for another Glossybox unboxing! This month I received my box a little later than usual, but I think it was something to do with the postman *sigh*. May’s box is inspired by high end beauty trends and this month has 5 full sized product – a massive treat or what!

Let’s start with the sneak peak from last month – Barry M: Cosmic Lights Highlighting Palette. This palette is so beautiful and actually really versatile. There are 6 colours, with two creamy hues and 4 iridescent powders. Most of the colours are pretty subtle but they are very build-able! I’ve used this nearly everyday since I’ve got it, it’s also the perfect travel size for holiday, too! The RRP is £7.99, so very affordable too!

The next product on this months box was from Annabelle Minerals, a Rose mineral Blush. Another new product which Glossybox has introduced me to. I love wearing a lil’ bit of blush as it gives that flushed look and I’m all about that (no-one wants to look like a ghost do they?!), This blush is really soft and applies really nicely to the skin, it is a mineral blush so there is no need to apply too much, a little bit will go a long way! The RRP is £12.50.

Next, was my favourite product in this months box. Nail berry – Love Me Tender Nail Polish. This colour is absolutely beautiful and the perfect pink shade. It states that this is an award winning nail polish, due to the fact it allows a healthier manicure without compromising on the colour. I don’t tend to splurge on nail polish as I have been wearing acrylics, and although this product is RRP at £14.50, I think I would make an exception and purchase this colour again!

The next product was Mudmasky – Aftermask Vitamin Serum. I always love receiving skincare products in my subscription box as it really gives me a chance to try loads of different products without spending too much first! This product is one of the only skincare products which is designed to be used after a face mask, it is designed to nourish complexion as well as adding all of the vitamins into the skin! I can’t wait to try this after using a mask and seeing if it really does work! The RRP is £43.00.

The final product in this months box was from Beauty Kitchen – A Naturaline Natural 0% Petroleum Lip Treatment. Another type of product like Vasaline. The only thing with this product is that it is fully sustainable and is made with 100% natural ingredients – and also the packaging is 100% recyclable too! This is really handy as I have so many lip treatments on the go! the RRP for this product is £2.99

I think this could easily be one of my favourite boxes I’ve received this month and it’s got £80.98 worth of products! I’ll report back on these products in a future Rate It or Hate It post, so if you’re curious about what I think, be sure to check out that post when it goes live!

My Morning Routine

I find that having a routine in the morning is so important, not only physically but also to my mental health – it helps me to feel fresh and ready for the day. I find that when I’m organised in the mornings, it keeps me motivated throughout the day. One of the main ways I enjoy my morning routine is by making sure my phone is not in sight – this was the hardest thing to do as I found it as a bad habit, but now I have broken the habit I love having time away from my phone!

Once i’m up, I make sure to fuel my body by eating breakfast – it’s the most important meal of the day and can definitely make a difference in how your day pans out – I find that once I’ve eaten, it’s helps me to stay focused!

Then I will complete my simple morning skincare routine (let me know if you’d like to see it), and brush my teeth! I have recently started using Lavera Whitening Toothpaste – it is a gentle toothpaste and isn’t too harsh! It helps to protect the enamel and to leave the teeth looking brighter. It has a subtle mint flavour and is lightly foamed – I find one of the best things about this toothpaste is I don’t get the sensitive feeling when I take a drink, which is a definite thumbs up from me!

After brushing my teeth, I like to use a mouthwash but have found it hard to find one that isn’t too strong or burns my sensitive gums! Until I started using The Breath Co. Fresh Breath mouthwash in mild mint. This product honestly does last the majority of the day – so there’s no need to worry about your breath after lunch (unless you’re eating garlic). It also doesn’t leave any nasty after taste and is lovely and refreshing. It’s a little more on the pricey side at £14, but I genuinely think I would buy this product as it really is a nice mouthwash!

Finally, to finish my morning routine. I have one Grethers pastilles in Blueberry – primarily they are for a sore throat but I have found that it helps my throat throughout the day, I don’t feel any hoarseness and it helps to stop my mouth from feeling so dry! These are gluten free and don’t contain *ANY* nasties which is perfect – they also taste great!

* items in this blog post have all be gifted, but as usual, all opinions are my own!

Glossy box | April 2019

April’s theme was ‘fruity or floral’ which definitely gave off a spring/summer vibe – this box contains five products which are designed to help you look bright and refreshed on the outside! This is my 5th month being subscribed to Glossybox, and I honestly feel like it’s such great value for money! I have tried so many different products that I wouldn’t normally.

Last months sneak peak was Dr Botanicals – Pomegranate Superfood Regenerating Sleeping Mask: Dr Botanicals has been on my agenda for a while, and I’m so glad I have finally received a product from them. This is supposed to help energise and refresh the complexion of the skin. It is fruity, full of pomegranate whilst being completely vegan and all natural. This mask can be applied before sleep and leave it to work magic while sleeping. This was a deluxe mini and RRP is £14.00.

The next product was Jeanne Arthes – Let Your Dreams Blossom (Eau De Parfum) – this bottle matches the box perfectly. It contains notes of woody and floral fragrances. It also blends soft rose petals and cedar wood with lily, freesia and amber which created this sent. It is definitely a summery scent and will be perfect to carry in a little bag. This was a full sized product and RRP is £20.99.

Su Kin – Cream Cleanser – I have never tried a cream cleanser before, I normally use oils so this will be new to me. This product contains natural oils, including Aloe vera and brightening reship. They are designed to hydrate, nourish and purify the skin. As well as removing makeup, it is also meant to help remove dirt build up and excess oils. This is a full sized product and RRP is £7.95.

We have previously received bath products within the box, and its such a nice treat, to look after the body as well as the skin. This month, we got Original Source – Raspberry & Rose Shower Gel – infused with vitamins, antioxidants and moisturising ingredients to nourish and detox the body from outside in. Another product which is vegan, and paraben free. It smells amazing. This is a full sized product and RRP is £2.30.

The last full sized product was Dr PawPawl – Hot Pink Balm – it is the same as the original but with an added pink tint. It nourishes and hydrates the lips, whilst giving a suttle colour, this can also be used on the cheeks as a blush to create a rosy look. RRP is £6.95.

As well as receiving five products this month, we also got an extra treat. Palmers – Natural Infusions, Chia Seed & Argan Oil Hair Mask – I love a hair mask, they’re so quick and easy to use and really does make your hair feel great! This is designed to help reduce the look of damaged locks. It is also supposed to boost hydration and rejuvenates dull hair. This is a deluxe mini and RRP is £1.99.

This months box contains £54.18 worth of products. All blooming’ lovely.
