Thoughtful Thursdays | Outdoor Sanctuary

I feel that with the nice weather we’ve been having over the past week, it makes people want to spend more time outside. So, this week we’re going to concentrate on outdoor sanctuary. Spending time outdoors can create significant health benefits, it is known to improve blood pressure and to boost mental health!

Love your space – this is such an important aspect of every part of your life, make somewhere you enjoy being ‘your space’. Have somewhere you know you can be yourself and restore your feelings.

Watch the wind – a breezy day can provide a great opportunity to slow down and be more aware of what is around you. Go and sit somewhere outdoors – experience the feel of moving air on your face and skin. Watch the subtle changes that it creates in the landscape around you.

A moment of sound – the sound of moving water has a hypnotic quality that can help still your mind. Spend a few minutes sitting with your eyes closed near some water – bring all your attention to the sound of water and concentrate on your focus.

Make sure you’re spending at least 10 minutes a day in the out doors – don’t underestimate how much better it can make you feel, even if you only stand by your door, it’ll really help!
