Disclaimer: I am in no way a medical professional or a CBD expert. This post is to inform you of my personal experience with it. I carried out research to ensure the information I have provided is correct – this post is not to tell you that you must/must not take this oil. This is my decision and my experiences only.
Over the past few months, there has been an increase in people using CBD oil, for many different reasons. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a natural component taken from the cannabis plant and has been found to have several health benefits, including the treatment of anxiety and depression. Before I give you my personal review, let me give you some facts/information about the product.
What is CBD Oil, is it safe? CBD oil is made from high CBD and low THC hemp – because hemp oil only contains a small amount of THC, it it therefore non-psychoactive. This means that a person who takes CBD oil will see no change to their state of mind. However, it is known to help with significant changes for medical benefits.
How does the oil work? The CBD oil will attach itself to receptors in the body to produce the effects. The human body has two receptors for which CBD can attach to – CB1 and CB2.
CB1 is found all around the body and mainly in the brain: this deals with mood, emotion, thinking and appetite amongst other things.
CB2 is more commonly found in the immune system and deals with things like inflammation and pain.
My review: I have now been using CBD oil for a while, and although I can’t say if it has made life changing benefits, I have noticed a difference in some things.
The use: 2/3 drops under your tongue, once/twice a day (you can build it up if you feel you need more).
The taste at the beginning was catastrophically BAD. After a couple of uses, you begin to tolerate the taste and now it doesn’t taste too bad.
I was very sceptical about using the oil, but I knew I had carried out enough research to know I was using it safely. One of the main differences I have noticed is how I’m sleeping, although I have to take 5 night tablets, I know that since using the oil I have been sleeping much better – I’m only waking around 1/2 times a night which is a HUGE difference from only getting around 4 hours sleep a night.
Another improvement I have noticed is that I am not constantly in pain. Having anxiety also comes with physical symptoms too – one being that your bones/muscles can ache for no reason. Although I wouldn’t say the pain has gone completely, it has definitely subsided.
Since using the oil, I have not noticed any side effects or any changes in myself which could be down to the use of the oil. I will continue to use the oil on a daily basis and see if – in the future there are any other changes. I understand that many people who take medication for their mental illnesses now only use CBD oil. This would be ultimately what I would like to achieve in the future, but I know it won’t be the same for every person, therefore it’s just one step at a time.
